This course will be focusing heavily on mechanical system drawings that shows (in depth) information of certain mechanical castings and objects such as hexagonal bolts, nuts and lock nuts, washers/spacers, keys and keyways, conventional representation of common features, detailed drawings of individual components, including appropriate labels. All drawings will be done in 3rd angle orthographic, unless required otherwise. Depending on pupils needs, the course will range from simple to complex industry assembly drawings. Final working drawings may be non-sectional, sectional, half-sectional and/or part-sectional and may include one of more of the following: basic welding, machining and surface treatment symbols, tolerance, title, scale, hidden detail, dimensioning, cutting planes, hatching details, notes and symbol of projection. All drawings will be complying with the SANS (SABS) 0111 Guidelines. This course is 100% CAPS compliant.
This course is suitable for pupils in grade 10; 11 & 12. You will get practical assignments at the end of every session. Practical learning experience with course drawings and examples.
